If you find yourself traveling to Prague, exploring the vibrant world of street art is highly recommended!

 

When you go to Prague, make sure to include Kampa Park in your itinerary. Along the river of Vltava near Kampa Park, you can see 34 yellow penguins with tiny board bellies standing in one line. This site is an unofficial tourist attraction; searching "What you do in Prague" barely pops out. 

 

The yellow penguins were created by Cracking Art Group, an art movement based in Milan. All 34 yellow penguins are made from recycled bottles, embodying the group's concern about global warming and the perils of plastic consumption. As social animals, Penguins can see that global warming has seriously affected their homes and lives when they stand on the shore individually. The group's choice to use plastic is not only for its aesthetic appeal and malleability but also to show how the world is becoming increasingly artificial. Through this repurposing of plastic, the group aims to spark meaningful discussions about the environmental consequences of plastic waste.

 

These yellow penguins are an unofficial site compared with Prague Castle, architecture, or beer. However, as you stroll through Kampa Park, their allure is undeniable. Especially when night falls, the illuminated penguins also illuminate the paths of many who venture near. This is a successful artwork that looks cute and brings us profound significance. These penguins are not just the guardian of the lake but also the yellow alarm for the environment, reminding everyone to see it to protect the earth.
